I was recently invited to <this contest> and am pursuing it as an method of rapidly developing the farming concept of Project Universe solo. Then once the contest is completed opening it up to the rest of Project Universe, assuming I retain ownership of what I create and continue development. I’ve sent NVIDIA the following email:

Hello Siddharth!

So, I’ve registered and 100% want to make use of this opportunity to its fullest extent during and post event. I have a few questions before moving forwards.

As for some context before my questions… I was rendered bedridden in 2016 due to Crohn’s disease. After surviving a near death experience caused by health complications courtesy of the disease, I dedicated my life to humanity’s betterment however I could figure out how on 24 December 2017. This led to this concept of developing a video game dedicated to ending poverty, as I had prior experience with game dev and can do game dev from bed. While I know this contest is limited, I was thinking I could use this opportunity to create a web-based version of part of “Project Universe” as a solo developer. I’m currently trying to use ChatGPT and ClaudeAI, but they’re proving incredibly frustrating to use. I hoping this opportunity with NVIDIA would provide the much needed support for going from concept to usable product. My intention here is to use this to solo develop the farming aspect of the game/web app into something sensible/usable and post-contest expand the project to include a team and the rest of the project aspects like crafting, mining, electrical, plumbing, etc.

Here’s my questions:

  • Intellectual Property Rights: “Can you clarify the intellectual property rights for contest submissions? Do I retain full ownership of my project after the contest?”
  • Post-Contest Development: “Are there any restrictions on further developing or commercializing my project after the contest ends?”
  • Team Expansion: “If I win or complete the contest, are there any limitations on expanding my project with a team afterwards?”
  • Continued Use of NVIDIA Technologies: “After the contest, will I still have access to the NVIDIA technologies used in my submission for further development?”
  • Submission Content: “Can my submission include plans for future development beyond the contest period, or should it focus solely on what I’ve completed during the contest timeframe?”
  • Web Application vs. Game: “My project idea involves a web application that could potentially evolve into a game. Is this approach acceptable for the contest?”
  • Open Source Considerations: “Are there any requirements or restrictions regarding open-sourcing my project code during or after the contest?” Data
  • Usage and Privacy: “Are there any guidelines or restrictions on using real-world data in my project, especially concerning privacy and data protection?”
  • Submission Video Content: “Can you provide more details on what should be included in the 2-3 minute demo video? Should it focus solely on the technical aspects or can it include future development plans?”
  • Feedback and Mentorship: “Is there any opportunity for feedback or mentorship from NVIDIA experts during the contest period?”
  • Technology Integration Depth: “Is there a minimum level of integration required for each NVIDIA technology used in the project?”
  • Cross-Platform Development: “If my web application is designed with future cross-platform development in mind, how should I address this in my contest submission?”

I’m incredibly excited about this opportunity and hope I can use it to help me help humanity.

Eagerly looking forward to your response!

Love,
Michael Boisson

I don’t see anything in <their PDF> about the contest prohibiting making this blog post. The only thing is I can’t accept anyone’s assistance in the project as it’s meant to be a solo development contest.

That’s all for now! Hope y’all are well!
